Customer Rights in Auto Body | Sherwood Auto Body

Insurance companies and repair shops alike have standards to which we all must adhere. Some of these regulations are industry standards and others are state or federally mandated law. It's in the best interest of the vehicle being serviced and of the customer that these laws and regulations are honored. At Sherwood Auto Body, we take the rights of the customer and the protections in place to keep our customers happy very seriously. We strive to not only meet, but exceed, these expectations as an Auto Body Repair Shop.

Make sure you don't get the runaround from your insurance company, or a bad estimate from a questionable repair facility. Know your rights, and use them to your advantage to make certain that your vehicle is restored to pre-loss condition after an auto accident. Don't get taken advantage of because you didn't know your rights!

Customer Rights and Protections

OREGON LAW PROHIBITS AN INSURANCE CARRIER FROM REQUIRING A VEHICLE OWNER TO GET REPAIRS AT A PARTICULAR MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR SHOP. A VEHICLE OWNER HAS THE RIGHT TO SELECT THE MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR SHOP OF THEIR CHOICE.

You have the right to select the repair facility that will repair your vehicle. Only you can authorize repairs to your vehicle. You are free to select repairers who do not have agreements with your Insurance Company. Not all repair facilities charge the same amount for vehicle repairs and it is recommended to receive several estimates that cover the varying prices and labor rates of the auto body shops in the local area.
